Lord Byron once wrote:
"At the moment of the creation of the planet, the most beautiful fusion of land and sea happened on the Montenegrin coast..."

Montenegro is a country full of contrasts. At a distance of only 100 kilometers, there are three different natural environments: the region of high mountains, the karst region and the Montenegrin coast. Geographical position makes Montenegro an exceptional country in many respects. On slightly less than 14,000 square kilometers, there are magnificent natural values such as: sandy beaches, the Bay of Kotor, the largest lake in the Balkans - Lake Skadar, the canyon of the Tara River and the mountains of the northern region with often untouched nature, numerous glacial lakes and peaks of about 2,500 meters above sea level.

Although it belongs to the group of Adriatic and Mediterranean countries, Montenegro is also a mountainous country where areas above 1,000 meters above sea level occupy as much as 60.5% of the territory. The territory of Montenegro, with its specificity, is a country whose natural beauty makes it the only such country in the world. Tourists have the opportunity to swim in the sea, go rafting on rivers, hike or ski on the mountain - all in one day. Only in Montenegro you have the opportunity to go from the Mediterranean to the mountainous part of the country in an hour's drive.

The mountains of Montenegro are enjoyed both in summer and winter. From hiking tours through glades and forests, to hiking to high mountain peaks. In summer, you can explore mysterious caves and river canyons. During the winter, ski slopes and ski lifts await tourists, regardless of whether they are beginners or experienced skiers.

The beginning of skiing in Montenegro is linked to Friedrich Angel, who, back in 1893, came from Norway and trained the army and civilians in skiing for military, practical and sporting reasons. In the past, skiing was meant for easy movement, while today it is a sport that attracts and develops winter tourism in Montenegro. That's why we present you with a list of all ski resorts in Montenegro.

We invite you to come to Kolasin, to the unavoidable mountain Bjelasica. The Kolasin 1600 and Kolasin 1450 ski centers are among the most modern European winter centers, and also the most visited in Montenegro. The total trail of the ski center in Kolašin is 45 km of connected trails.

Ski center "Kolasin 1600" is the first ski center opened in a series of ski centers on the Bjelasica mountain. It got its name from the elevation of the starting point of the six-seater detachable cable car and the location of the base station. On the ground floor of the base station there is a coffee bar where guests can enjoy hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It was built according to the highest international standards. It is 85 kilometers from the capital Podgorica, 12 kilometers from Kolasin and 2.3 kilometers from the neighboring ski center Kolasin 1450. The ski center offers a ski school and what is very important for all beginners is that they learn the correct techniques of these disciplines during their studies. Experienced instructors introduce all beginners to the world of skiing and snowboarding, so that this sports discipline becomes an integral part of their life. Bearing that in mind, the Kolasin 1600 ski center has included ski school services as well as ski lifts in its offer.

Thanks to the altitude, the area of the ski resort belongs to the air spa and is an exceptional tourist destination for vacations throughout the year. The basic trail is 4.5 km long. The total length of groomed ski trails, which are maintained according to the most modern standards in the area, is 16.5 km. The total capacity of all lifts is about 5500 skiers per hour. Almost all of them lead through the forest except for those at the top, which are above the forest belt. Most are blue and red categorizations. The trails are classified and marked as easy, medium and difficult, which means that there are trails for all types of skiers and boarders.
