When we think of the natural beauties of Montenegro, the first thing that comes to mind for most are the scenes of the north of Montenegro. Three national parks, Durmitor, Biogradska gora and Prokletije, as well as the magnificent and numerous mountain lakes Crno, Kapetanovo, Zminje, Trnovacko, Zabojsko, Biogradsko, Pesica lake will surely leave every traveler breathless.
Each mountain is a special story. Bjelasica is tame, Durmitor is unpredictable, Prokletije is the most beautiful mosaic. In them are springs, streams, rivers, glacial lakes, rocks and peaks that rush clouds, caves, vast forests, pastures, villages and huts. Herds that graze freely. Areas that no one has ever passed through ... And all that in four variants, because the seasons on the mountain are clearly different. True, in some mountains the snow survives even in the hottest days of August, so then, at about 2000 meters above sea level, you can swim in the lake and - snowballs.
Meeting in Podgorica and long transfer to Prokletije area. Welcoming dinner and overnight in mountain chalets. Briefing during dinner. Overnight.
After breakfast we will start with hiking to the highest mountain lake in Montenegro – Hridsko Lake 1970m of altitude. Depending on the groups fit and size it will take approximately 2-3 hours to the lake. This will be easy to moderate hike since it is our first day of hiking. Lunch in private household with an amazing view on the surrounding hills. Transfer to small village in the foot of Prokletije. Accommodation in mountain chalets. Dinner there.
After the breakfast we will have half an hour transfer to the starting place for hiking. This is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Prokletije. In the beginning through the forest and later so open and with and amazing view on the highest peaks in Montenegro – Karanfili. We will have a lunch package for lunch. Route is a circle tour except the last part which is the same. Transfer back to our accommodation. Dinner there.
Check out after the breakfast and one hour transfer to a starting place for hiking. This hiking is medium difficulty but the view on Plavsko Lake from the peak is simply breath taking. Lunch package for lunch. Hiking back to our van. Short transfer to Bijelo Polje. Accommodation in mountain hut. Dinner there.
After breakfast hiking on volcanic origin mountain Bjelasica and beside the mountain katuns. People live there only during the summer while they are breading livestock. Bjelasica is totally different from other mountains in Montenegro, it is very mild and open. Because of that it is very windy during the winter and beginning of spring. Hiking is some 15-16 km, and we will have lunch at one of the katuns. Transfer to Zabljak at the end of tour. It will be a longer transfer. Accommodation in lodges. Dinner there.
After breakfast, we will head to a hiking tour called 4 lakes tour. Starting point is from Black lake, the biggest glacial lake in Montenegro, and we will hike through the forests and meadows of NP Durmitor. Hiking is app 12km and ends up the amazing viewpoint with a view on the whole Zabljak. Transfer back to our lodges. Lunch will be lunch package, and dinner is in the place of overnight.
After breakfast, check out, and we will head to the last hiking day that will take us to the, still officially, highest peak of Montenegro. Hiking to Bobotov Kuk, in the National park Durmitor. Starting point for hiking is from the road known as Durmitor’s ring, scenic tour long 85km. Hiking is around 13km, but depending of the circle we will make after descending the peak. For lunch we will have lunch package. At the end of the tour, transfer to Podgorica. On the way, we will have farewell dinner. Overnight in Podgorica.
